[TeenMinistry] LTM (Lafayette Teen Ministry) Reminders

Hey Teens (and parents),

Just a couple of bullet point reminders:

·       TABS - Let me know ASAP if you need a ride to TABS…the van is full, and my extra vehicle is full so if you’re planning on going I need to know so I can get more rides.  It’s not a problem right now but if you wait until Sunday afternoon, then it could be a problem and you might not be able to go L

·       Sr. Lunch this Sunday at Mike & Lee Ann’s immediately following AM services.  Bring your pictures Neely J  We will be planning our Senior Trip (our Seniors voted to replace their banquet with a trip) and finalizing information for Senior Sunday.

·       HONDURAS – deadline this Sunday.  Click here if you need an application form and information

·       JHDD – Be sure to get those forms to me ASAP – definitely no later than 5/20.  Click Here to get the registration form.

·       CAMP – get your registrations in…if we have 33 Lafayette teens and their (unchurched – that is they don’t have a church home) friends then you get to shave my head - BALD!!!  CLICK HERE to go to the Ne-O-Tez website and download your camper application

·       GULF COAST MISSION – we have a good group going.  We might be able to squeeze 1 or 2 more in but for the most part we are done with registration for that.

·       KIDSFEST – many of you are helping!!! GREAT JOB.  I’m sure Kathy could use more help if you’re looking for something to do this summer!

·       Graduation Sunday – May 20 - We will incorporate our Sr. Video and comments from our Seniors in our time of worship together.  In addition, we will have a short presentation for our Seniors.

·       WEDNESDAY NIGHT HUDDLE GROUPS – a great time to get involved and build relationships.  More new people are coming each week!!!  We are studying the book of John right now.

·       If you have access to free stuff like Cardinal or Ram tickets, passes to movies, Christian concerts, restaurants, etc – let me know.  We can use them in the youth ministry for rewards, incentives or just plain fun.

 

FYI – If you’re ever interested in attending an event and cost is a factor please talk to me before you decide not to go!

[TeenMinistry] Senior Sunday Information

Parents, Seniors, Youth Group members and everyone else;

About 2 weeks ago I sent out an e-mail asking for pictures for our graduation video which will be incorporated into our Graduation Sunday on May 20.

So far I have gotten 1 response from a Senior parent who is trying to round some up, but that’s about it.  It takes quite a while to produce a video so we need to get started on this yesterday J.  

PICTURES

Seniors and Senior parents, at the least I need your Senior Picture.  At best (for your individual pictures) I need 3 or 4 individuals from throughout your school career (i.e. kindergarten, 5^th grade, 9^th grade, etc.).

EVERYONE – I need youth group event pictures from mission trips, Winterfest, TABS, camp, etc.  It can have anyone in the picture but probably should also have at least one of our seniors from throughout their youth group career (or earlier J). 

You can scan them and e-mail them to me or put them on a disk, you can bring me your hard copy and I will scan them (make sure you put your name on the back).  I’ll take anything you have! J

Looking to earn a little extra for Gulf Coast Mission or summer activity?

Rich  Ruiz (not Mike – sorry) will be undergoing back surgery this week.  He has offered to pay a teen who would like to earn some money for youth group activities to mow his lawn.  If you are interested, please contact the church office at 636-391-6697 or e-mail me back.

[TeenMinistry] NeOTez Training

This is just a reminder that this Sunday is Camp Ne-O-Tez staff training.  If you are planning on working at camp this summer you must take this training.  You must be at least 2 years older than the group you want to work with.  We will be leaving the building after morning services and should return around 6 PM.  We can get rides or make arrangements for those whose families are in a life group.

[TeenMinistry] Lafayette Seniors need your help

I am at a disadvantage – normally I would have embarrassing (o.k. flattering ones too!) pictures from Jr. High and other times of youth group life to put in a video for our Seniors.  However, having been here for only 8 months, I need some help.  If you have pictures that include any of our graduating seniors, please send them my way.  Digital pictures are best, you can put them on a CD or send them by e-mail but please do so ASAP, our Graduation Sunday (May 20) is coming quickly and I need to start on the video now.  Baby, toddler, children’s pictures would all be welcomed as well…just make sure you label them for me so I know who they are! J

[TeenMinistry] JHDD 2007

Junior High Discipleship Days

 

If you’ve participated in JHDD (Junior High Discipleship Days) before, you know it’s a great thing to be a part of!

Here is the information and application for it.  (for those of you who are computer savvy, it would help if you print it out front and back on the same page J) We will be leaving at 9 AM and should return by around 3:45 PM each day we meet

If you’re new to JHDD, join the club – so am I ! J  JHDD is a summer experience for Jr. High 6^th-8^th grade (incoming 5^th graders can participate as well).  This year’s theme is “Go Against the Flow”.  Each session will include a time of Bible Study, Bible Bowl, Lunch and a service project.   It’s a great way for our jr. high teens to connect with one another as well as with other teens throughout St. Louis.

If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call.

SPECIAL NEED:  I need parents or a teen chaperone to drive the church van and attend the event on 6/14 (Gulf Coast Mission) & 7/5 – these are dates I am not available to go.  If you can help PLEASE let me know as soon as possible so I can check this off my summer to-do list.

Good Afternoon – I hope you all are staying dry!

 

Here are some links concerning our Gulf Coast Mission trip.

Here are some bullet points:

 

·         This is for Jr. & Sr. High

·         If you are going, get the application filled out and deposit in ASAP, there is a limit on the size of our group – but definitely no later than May 1.

·         We are leaving early on Saturday, June 9 and we will return late on Friday, June 15.

·         The cost is $200 per person and includes transportation, meals down there, lodging

·         If you wait until after May 1, it’s too late.

·         We need parents to step up and sponsor some fund-raisers

·         Make sure you read all of the information on the Brochure & Information Pages before you sign the Application.

·         DEADLINE IS MAY 1
