TeenEPIC Hayride

TeenEPIC will host a Hayride/Cookout for Middle School and High Schoolers at the Simmon's on November 1, 2009.  Meet at the Simmons at or after 3 PM.  We will roast hotdogs, eat s'mores, have games, a devotional and have a very relaxed ride in a hay wagon. ;)  We should finish out by 7 PM.

This is a great event to bring your friends to!  Make sure to sign up and have them sign up! IF YOU SIGN UP or sign your friends up-PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CAN SHOW UP!!!

[TeenMinistry] Areawide Sr. High Retreat - REFUGE - Plan for it!

Areawide Sr. High Retreat (grades 9-12)

[TeenMinistry] Winterfest

Mark February 18-21, 2010 on the calendar (although not likely, the option of leaving Thursday evening is on the table).  Most likely, we will leave Friday at 5 AM.  Beginning in mid-October, as we have always done, it will be open to HS first then MS grades in order (8th, 7th, 6th) until lodging and transportation is full.

The cost will likely be about $125-$140 (transportation, rooms, WF registration, snacks) – I am still waiting on a few figures to finalize costs.  Regardless of the final cost, a $75 non-refundable deposit will be due by November 22nd to hold your spot. AFTER November 22 the registration will increase by $30.

A registration form and finalized information will be coming soon but I wanted to get something out as soon as I could to help you spread out the cost.

I know this is an expensive trip!  It is also a day out of school.  As a youth minister AND a parent, I firmly believe it is more than worth it!  This is a trip that is the highlight of the year for our group!  Please make every effort possible to help your child plan to go.  As always, if finances are an issue for your family, please let me know.

If there is a (are) parent(s) interested in heading up a fund-raising activity for this trip, I will be glad to help you.

[TeenMinistry] Retreat Sweets

We could use a few plates of brownies, cookies and other sweet things to eat at our Teen Retreat next weekend.  If you can get them here by Wednesday evening, September 23, that would be great!  ALSO – because of peanut allergies, we ask that none of the sweets contain nuts (this also means we can’t have Peanut Butter Cookies).  THANKS!

[TeenMinistry] Volleyball teams

Volleyball Tournament Information

PARENTS/ADULTS - I am in need of a few “scholarships”.  If you would like to make a donation to camp, it will allow us to have smaller teams, get more people playing and get more money to camp. Please see me if you can help! We are charging $5 per kid and it cost $50 to enter a team…if we only have teams of 6 (which allows them to play more) we still need $20 per team otherwise we have to make teams of 10.   We need to help a few with $ for a couple of meals too.

A few details

·         We leave after morning classes this Sunday and should return by 7:15 PM.

·         Bring:  blankets/lawn chairs to sit on, $ for lunch and dinner, card games, etc

·         You will have time to change your clothes after class.

I am really impressed that some of you are going even though you have no desire to play.  You are some of the ones in our group who are really getting that it’s not about the event, it’s about being together and building those relationships!  Keep up the good work!!!

[TeenMinistry] TeenHouse - Handyman Needed

The floors in the TeenHouse are ready to be sanded, stained and polyeurathaned but BEFORE WE CAN DO THAT there are 2 leaks in the roof that we need to get someone (prefereably someone who knows a little bit about roofs) to take a look and make some repairs.  If you are willing to help, please contact me at your earliest convenience.
