[TeenMinistry] Toby Mac Concert - Middle School

 

 

WHAT & WHEN:  The Jr. High will be going to the Toby Mac Concert on September 28. 

TIMES:  Be at the building at 5:45 (eat before you arrive).  Because we have no idea how long the concert will last we will call parents on the way home with an estimated time. 

COST: The cost is $25 that includes ticket, service charge and transportation.

DEADLINE:  YOU MUST PAY the $25 by Wednesday night, September 12

High School – this information is for you – If you’re not doing anything Sunday PM and would like to join Christine Bennett for you birthday party, please read the information below:

Christine Bennett (a former member of Lafayette) is able to come to St. Louis for her 16th Birthday.  This is very exciting for her because she wants to see her old friends from Lafayette and St. Louis.  She also turns 16 years old on September 2 (LABOR DAY WEEKEND!)

Kandie and Daryl Simmons have wonderfully opened their house and swimming pool for her 16th  birthday party!!!  Sunday afternoon  between 3:00 pm and ????.  I will supply the hotdogs / cake/ Soda.

Christine requests no presents - only if people are comfortable :  Her present would be a contribution check to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.

[TeenMinistry] NEW TEEN CENTER - Junior High Project

Over the next few months, the house next door will no longer be a rental house but will become the Lafayette Teen Ministry Center (Teen Center).  After a small re-model and clean up, our Sunday morning Middle School and High School classes will meet there as well as our Wednesday night Huddle Groups – this will probably take place sometime in late Fall or early Winter.  The Teen Center will become a place to meet, share and learn for our Lafayette Teens and their friends that they are trying to lead to Christ. 

 

THIS SUNDAY AFTERNOON – 1 PM to 4 PM we are asking the Middle Schoolers to come help do some work on your Teen Center (don’t worry Sr. High, we’ll be asking you in the future too!).  It will mostly just be hauling trash and doing some pickup in the house and yard.  I know it’s a holiday weekend and this is short notice but if you are sitting around wondering what you are going to be doing Sunday, this is a great opportunity to help out.  Bring a few bucks for ice cream and if we get our work done early, we may head out for a few minutes.

Date:  Sunday September 9^th

 

Time:  After AM Classes – back to LC by 7:15 PM

 

BRING:  $$ for lunch (concession stand will be open for lunch, snacks and dinner - $5 per meal is all you should need – all proceeds go to Camp), or you can bring a sack lunch to save a little $$.

 

The cost per team is $50.  We will be collecting the money over the next 2 Sundays in the back of the auditorium.

[TeenMinistry] River Outing (this Sunday)

The Gage Family has invited our Sr. High to join them in an afternoon on the river.

We will leave immediately following morning services and should return to the building by 6:30 PM.

• You will need to bring:
• modest swimsuit (1 piece or tankini - no bikini)
• towel
• dry change of clothes
• $5 to help with gas
• Sack lunch to eat on the way or when we get there
• snacks to share
• small cooler with your drinks
• money for dinner on the way back (if we choose to stop)

[TeenMinistry] Generations Dinner

Just a reminder that next Friday night, August 24, the Lafayette Teen Ministry and Lafayette Superset will be joining together for a Generations Dinner.  The cost is $5 (you can just bring it to the dinner).

[TeenMinistry] Tonight's schedule and Sunday' schedule

We have air throughout the church building….yahoo.  We are a soft people I know, but I do have to say, I like a cool room.

 

What we do not have for tonight is access to all the children’s education classrooms and the big room, as repairs continues (today they are replacing the molding).

So for tonight we will all be in the auditorium for a combined class. The exception to this will be the teens who will meet in the church office.

 

On Sunday we will have access to all the rooms except for the big room.  So on Sunday we will be holding all the various classes.  Therefore teachers, be prepared to teach on Sunday.   As the big room will not be available Kidsquest will not be held.  So this Sunday will be a Family Worship time.

[TeenMinistry] Teen Service Project - This Friday

When:  Friday, August 10

            MEET AT THE BUILDING by 11:15 – we will return around 4 PM (we will call parents)

What:  Our group will be helping to shift school supply donations from a collection area to the sorting and distribution area.
