This month in our Sunday AM High School Class we are looking at “The Heart of the New Testament”. This Sunday we are talking about “The Amazing Grace of God”.
Until we get a grasp of what God has really done for us on the Cross, our view of God is more of a religion than a relationship or a Walk. Our teens are beginning to find their own faith and for it to be relevant to them, it has to become theirs. It can’t be that of their parents or just a ritual that they go through on Sunday mornings – those things will not last but a true, meaningful relationship with Jesus will. It is also much easier for them if we, as parents, are living out a relationship with Christ and the sum of your walk is not just checking off the list each week but trying to live it out each day.

To help you spark a conversation about something that is relevant in our class, there is a Parent Talk Sheet available for you to look at. You can download it and look through it, share the story and just casually talk about God’s Amazing Grace with your teen.

In order to get the most out of our teaching time, I would like to encourage parents to encourage your teens to be in class on time (some are just hanging out in the lobby and hallways). Having 3 kids of my own to get up and get going, I know it’s difficult sometimes. The material we are going over right now is difficult to present in 45-60 minutes and we are having teens show up at 9:15 to 9:30 which really robs them of being able to set the stage for God to work on their hearts during the time of discussion and deeper material.
Because of the Cross,
