Good Afternoon – I hope you all are staying dry!

 

Here are some links concerning our Gulf Coast Mission trip.

·         Brochure & Information (All the information you should need on about the trip – if not give me a call)

Here are some bullet points:

 

·         This is for Jr. & Sr. High

·         If you are going, get the application filled out and deposit in ASAP, there is a limit on the size of our group – but definitely no later than May 1.

·         We are leaving early on Saturday, June 9 and we will return late on Friday, June 15.

·         The cost is $200 per person and includes transportation, meals down there, lodging

·         If you wait until after May 1, it’s too late.

·         We need parents to step up and sponsor some fund-raisers

·         Make sure you read all of the information on the Brochure & Information Pages before you sign the Application.

·         DEADLINE IS MAY 1

[TeenMinistry] Jr. High Movie Night Reminder

This is just a reminder about the Jr. High Movie Night at the Day’s this Friday night – please sign up tonight or send an e-mail by tomorrow  so they will know how many to plan for.  Below is the note I sent out last week:

 

 

 

 

The Day’s have once again opened their home to the Jr. High (grades 6-8) (below you can see a note from them about their last experience which speaks highly of our Jr. High Group).  There is a sign-up list on the Teen Room door – please, please, please sign up this Sunday if you can go – OR send me an e-mail and I’ll put your name on the list for you.    If you need a ride from the building and back, indicate that on the sign up sheet -  (there is a limit to the transportation so sign up early) – otherwise just meet at the Day’s house.

Raishelle and I were encouraged by the Lafayette middle school youth group and thought it would be appropriate to share.

 

Our congregation is blessed to have this group of kids in our congregation. This was the first time we have hosted a youth group event at our home and we were amazed at how well behaved the kids were. I was struck by how well balanced and content the group was. The contrast between what I observed on Friday night with my personnel experience as a Jr. High School student (with no spiritual connection) was stark.

 

This group of kids has a peaceful and loving presence that is overt. I am convinced this presence we felt was the Holy Spirit and consider it a gift to our congregation. Raishelle commented on how empty our house felt after the kids left. We are very grateful to have this connection with Lafayette as we can all learn and benefit from their presence…

 

 

Lee Ann and I agree wholeheartedly with Jeff’s words and we feel very blessed to be a part of the Lafayette Teen Ministry.

[TeenMinistry] Sr. High Movie "Afternoon"

OK, so it’s not a Movie Night – but it is getting together, having fun, building relationships and hanging out.

 

The Sr. High (9^th-12^th) will be together in the Teen Room this Sunday, March 11 beginning at 1:30 PM.  Bring your snacks and soda to share, a pillow and blankie may come in handy too.  We will be watching “Facing the Giants”.  The movie should be done by 4 PM (which will be just in time for you to go to TABS).

WE NEED HELP!!!

At this point we have 23 signed up to go to TABS this Sunday.  We only have a 15 passenger van.  I need at least 2 drivers (more if we have last minute kids show up) with mini-vans who can be here by 4 PM on Sunday.  Please let me know if you can help.

[TeenMinistry] Personal Note

 

After 7 months of “temporary living”, the Lord has provided our family with a house.  We are blessed beyond what we deserve to be here working with you all.  To all those who have encouraged us with your words and kind actions, we are so grateful.  Many of you have shared that you have been praying for us and we wanted to let you know that God is faithful and has delivered.  Thank you for you prayer support!

 

We are finishing our 6 month lease in the apartment this month and already have possession of the house which means that Lee Ann is making good on all my “I’ll get to that someday” promises.  She knows that if it’s not painted now…well, do I have to explain J  So we are painting, cleaning and fixing up and will be in for good in a few weeks.
